Description:	The Archive of European Integration (AEI) is an electronic repository and archive for research materials on the topic of European integration and unification. The AEI collects two types of materials: certain types of independently-produced research materials and official European Community/European Union documents. It was founded in 2003 to provide a permanent home for scholarly research material on the topic of European integration. The original focus was on papers produced by research organizations and institutes. The AEI provided a site where those papers could be placed as full text and open access to serve as a permanent home. In 2004 the AEI began uploading publications and official documents produced by what is now called the European Union. At present, the Archive contains over 71.000 documents.
